Cherry, strawberry, floral and earth flavors mingle with the silky texture of this charming red, which winds down with moderate tannins, a lively feel and good overall energy. Best from 2026 through 2040. 80 cases imported.

Intense wild herb and savory aromas on the nose lead you into the surprisingly generous palate for this appellation where the red berry fruit and licorice character is pronounced. Still very youthful and slightly drying on the palate thanks to the slightly rustic tannins, this still needs some time in bottle to reach its best drinking form. Sustainable. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.

With an elegant bouquet, relatively powerful, red Savigny les Beaune is often reminiscent of red fruit (blackcurrant, raspberry, morello cherry) evolving with time towards woody notes. They are often refered to as "feminine wines" due to their fine, light structure.

The name of this "Climat" with rocky sub-soil comes from the great number of big flat stones called "laves" in the area. These natural stone slabs were used by the Merovingians for their tombs. One of these can be seen in the Louis XI room in the Chateau de Beaune. Bouchard Pere & Fils owns 3.94 hectares of Savigny Premier Cru acquired at the beginning of the 20th century.
TASTING NOTE: Delicate bouquet with berry fruit notes. On the palate, seductive with the subtle intensity of its aromas and for its tenderness. Good ageing potential.
