Two Hands Secret Block Single Vineyard Shiraz 2020 750ml
SKU: RDAU20205910
Two Hands Secret Block Single Vineyard Shiraz 2020 is a premium Barossa Valley Shiraz sourced from the secluded Moppa Hills sub-region, where mature vines produce fruit of exceptional intensity and character. This single-vineyard wine delivers expressive aromas of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, dried flowers, spice, and subtle earthy notes, layered with hints of licorice, incense, and fresh pepper. Full-bodied and beautifully structured, it combines concentrated fruit with silky tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, savoury finish. An outstanding expression of Barossa terroir, it pairs perfectly with grilled steaks, roast lamb, and slow-cooked meats, while offering excellent cellaring potential.

This 2020 Secret Block Wildlife Road Moppa Hills Shiraz is a wonder. The Barossa has a propensity to deliver a fresh injection of dirt and earth, and this, of all the wines in the 2020 lineup, gives that experience. The tannins through the finish are savory and granular and serve to guide the fruit over the tongue. The fruit is plush and red and shows raspberries and mulberries and soft spice. You can drink this wine at any time because it's cushioned and ready now (although a decant is important), and while it will live for decades, I really think it's important to drink it sooner in order to capture the freshness of the fruit.

Dense and firm, this slowly reveals its complexity, with white pepper, malty black tea, warm baking spices, a touch of date nut bread and firm, fresh fruity flavors of blueberry and black cherry at the core. Gains momentum on the finish, where details of herbs, tobacco and cedar fill in, with appealing grace notes and tannins that continue to firm up. Drink now through 2032. 50 cases imported.

Colour: Deep dark red.
Aroma: Heady and intoxicating. Explosive notes of blue and blackberries, kirsch, dried flower, aromatic oils, spice and fresh ink.
Palate: Concentrated and powerful with plenty of energy and life across the palate. Waves of blue and blackberry tinged fruit caress the mouth and build in intensity as they cascade across the palate. Complex notes of red licorice, dried flower, spice-box, scorched earth and incense smoke add interest and intrigue. Tannins start mid palate and mesh perfectly with the density of fruit rolling through to a long finish. Notes of coal and Indian ink round out the finish.

THE SINGLE VINEYARD SERIES
We’ve been strong proponents of regionality since the early days at Two Hands, showcasing how different the Shiraz grape can be through the six wines and six regions of the Garden Series, but through the Single Vineyard Series we’re taking regionality to the next level.
“The world has so many vineyards but so few have the X-factor, these are great sites that come to the fore each vintage.” Michael Twelftree
