Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2021 750ml
The 2021 Tommasi Amarone is a rich yet polished expression of Valpolicella Classica, with ripe cherry, black cherry and wild berries followed by fig, sweet spice, thyme and espresso. Full-bodied and enveloping, the palate combines generous fruit with fresh acidity, soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. Despite its richness, it retains the elegance and balance that define Tommasi’s Amarone style.

Overt and fruity with assertive raspberries, bay leaves and roasted black peppercorns. The full-bodied, supple palate is warming, showing crisp acidity and tight yet ripe tannins. A bit sticky in the finish. Drinkable now but best from 2028.

A harmonious red, quite elegant for an Amarone, with a refreshing plum skin tang that buoys flavors of plumped black cherry, dried fig, spiced orange peel, sweet tobacco and fresh earth. Fine, chalky tannins show on the finish. Corvina, Rondinella, Corvinone and Oseleta. Drink now through 2036. 25,000 cases made, 3,600 cases imported.

We dare say this is the Amarone that you can open and enjoy at a meal without feeling overwhelmed. Elegant, smooth and never overpowering: these are the hallmark traits of our flagship wine.
One of the more frequent questions we’re asked is, “How do I justify opening a bottle of Amarone when we can barely drink one glass?” We dare say this is the Amarone that you can open and enjoy at a meal without feeling overwhelmed. Elegant, smooth and never overpowering: these are the hallmark traits of our flagship wine. Every vintage offers nuances that develop over time, which is why we suggest that serious enophiles invest in more than one bottle. The more disciplined collector can enjoy the reward of a memorable vertical tasting, in a few years or decades. We take a traditional approach to our Amarone which favors elegance and balance. Spicy, earthy, and moka undertones complement a persistent bouquet of succulent black cherries, prunes and dried fruits. The grapes come from two of the choicest plots in the Valpolicella Classica region.
Tasting Note
Very intense ruby red color, the nose reveals intense and clean scents of very ripe cherry, black cherry, wild berries followed by fresh and slightly spicy tones. In the mouth it is dry and soft at the same time, enveloping and of great balance thanks to the excellent balance between acidity and tannins. The whole tasting is embellished with a very pleasant tannic texture, which fades towards a finish of excellent persistence, with light hints of red fruit.
