The fruit for the 2021 Two Left Feet Shiraz Merlot Cabernet is sourced from McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, and the cool season has imbued the fruit with a cool sense of restraint. There remains a leafy inflection from the Merlot, but the star here is the Shiraz, and the Cabernet tannins (interestingly, the least pronounced variety here) seem to wedge into all the cracks, filling the palate with structure. The American oak still underwrites the wine and contributes a bedrock of plush, sweet oak beneath the fruit. Balanced.

This wine is a spectacular example of how Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet can be blended together to create flavours that complement each other so well. Lavish aromas of chocolate, cherry and vanilla cream, lead to a palate of deep plum, spice and liquorice. With soft, integrated tannins and lingering flavours, this is an opulent wine and seriously delicious.
The grapes were grown on the Mollydooker vineyards in McLaren Vale. Barrel fermented and matured in 98% American and 2% French oak using 39% new, 47% one year old and 14% two year old barrels.
