L'Hospitalet de Gazin Pomerol 2014 750ml

The second wine of Château Gazin delivers classic Pomerol elegance with ripe black fruits, plum, blackberry and blackcurrant layered with hints of chocolate, spice and earthy notes. Full-bodied yet silky, with fine tannins and a long, licorice-laced finish, it’s drinking beautifully now with plenty of depth for further cellaring. A superb value entry into the world of Pomerol.

Big nose of ripe black fruits, and this also has hints of chocolate. Savory and earth. The concentration, richness, generous dry tannins and almost silky balance on the finish should give it a long life. Delicious already.

A dark, winey style, with flavors of steeped plum, kirsch and black cherry preserves, notes of singed spice and apple wood and a long, licorice-framed finish. Features a bit of chewy grip, but there's ample flesh at the core for balance.

The L'Hospitalet de Gazin is the second wine of this estate (the first being Chateau Gazin). Full bodied wine with deep and vivid flavours reminding of mulberry, plum, blackberry and blackcurrant. The tannins, acid and some stem like notes add interest and complexity. Overall, this is an excellent Pomerol that is easy to recommend.
