Dark beguiling nose, rich and ripe, concentrated with violets and sweet black liquorice. The palate is ample and generous with grippy, chewy tannins. Plenty of structure.

Fresh, with lively acidity adding sparkle to the mix of dark plum, blackberry and blueberry compote flavors. A solid iron spine imparts a minerally component to the finish. Features a bit of grip, so moderate cellaring is advised. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2022 through 2030. 3,750 cases made.

Still quite dark crimson. Nicely integrated nose and beautifully balanced. Looking very good now. Classic claret with enough fruit for the evident tannin and acidity just right. Very much a classic St-Julien. GV (JR)
