Mars Iwai Tradition is a soft, layered Japanese blended whisky created in tribute to Kiichiro Iwai, an influential figure in the history of Mars Whisky. Malt-driven and matured at Mars Komagatake Distillery, it combines sherry, bourbon and wine-cask influences with delicate peat, resulting in a rounded whisky with ripe fruit, honeyed sweetness and gentle ginger spice.

Distillery

Iwai Tradition is a premium Japanese whisky crafted by the Mars Shinshu Distillery, located in the mountainous Nagano Prefecture of central Japan. As part of the Mars Whisky portfolio by Hombo Shuzo, this expression showcases the distillery’s expertise in blending traditional Scottish influences with distinctly Japanese craftsmanship.

Inspired by Kiichiro Iwai, a pioneer of Japanese whisky and mentor to Masataka Taketsuru (founder of Nikka), Iwai Tradition pays homage to classic whisky styles with a modern Japanese twist.

This is malt driven spirit is truly a reflection of contemporary Japanese whisky. Incredibly balanced, soft and layered. A blending of sherry, bourbon and wine casks with hints delicate hints of peat make for a harmonious whisky that would make Iwai-san proud. 

TASTING NOTES: Ripe Cherry, honey toffee with a beautiful ginger spice.
