About
Hillside Haven was planted in 1990 in the cool granite soils of Anakie-Geelong. The Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay grapes yield distinctive wines.
A family-owned Vineyard, in a town named after "The Anakies" which are a series of three hills that overlook the town - nicknamed the 3 Sisters by locals. Nearby is the extinct volcanic peak of Mt Anakie which rises 398 metres above sea level.
The vineyard is located on the Western slopes of Mt Anakie. Rich black clays developed over quaternary basalts and planted 254 metres above sea level; the granite gives you this lightness of touch from the Volcanic soil.
While most of Geelong is planted on basalt clay and limestone, this is totally unique. The site offers ethereal perfume and a mineralogy rarely seen in this region.
The wine is made with both passion and finesse, a hidden gem to impress!
