Freixenet La Freixeneda Madera 2011 750ml

The 2011 Freixenet La Freixeneda is a unique, limited-edition red wine from the family’s estate in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. With a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Garnacha, it’s made using a drying process similar to Italy’s Amarone, which intensifies the flavors. Aged in large Croatian oak barrels, it’s got a deep, rich profile with notes of dried figs, honey, and ripe berries. A great pick for hearty meals or aging in your collection.

Similarly, this wine the Italian model of Amarone is made from dried grapes to have a particular concentration of aromas. And with the Garnacha and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, this is achieved in a very wonderful way.
In the glass it comes with intense-red robe with light purple hues and reveals wonderfully powerful aromas of dried figs and honey together with the notes of ripe red berries. This demonstrates the finely interwoven, complex nuances combined with precious wood notes. The palate is very elegant and harmonious with remarkably long finish.
