Chateau Pibran Pauillac 2019 750ml
SKU: RDFR20195719
An approachable yet structured Pauillac, Château Pibran 2019 offers vibrant layers of blackberry, plum, and cassis, accented by notes of tobacco, graphite, and warm spice. Medium- to full-bodied, the palate is juicy and well-balanced, with smooth, firm tannins and a core of dark fruit leading to a subtly chocolate-tinged, savoury finish. A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this vintage combines early drinkability with ageing potential.

Juicy and ripe, with plum, blackberry and black currant paste flavors that have good energy as they move along, picking up singed alder, cast iron and tobacco accents along the way. Approachable but will develop a bit more, too. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2032. 2,077 cases made.

A highly-charged Pibran with traces of the heat of summer. You are in expert hands here with the Christian Seely-led team, and they have controlled the extraction so that the palate is dominated by plum and raspberry fruits, straying to crème de cassis that indicates full ripeness but not as far as over-ripe prune. Chocolate-laced through the finish, this makes an impression. 50% new oak.

53% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel sample.
Fruit and freshness on the nose. Palate fragrant, round and succulent but well defined. Lots of zesty juice. Clean finish. Fun but serious at the same time. (JL)
