Château Duhart-Milon Pauillac 2004 is a refined expression of this prestigious Fourth Growth estate, part of the Domains Barons de Rothschild portfolio and located in the renowned Pauillac appellation. Awarded 92 points by James Suckling and 91 points by The Wine Advocate, this mature Bordeaux reveals polished aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant, cedar, mint, earth and gentle spice. The medium- to full-bodied palate is elegant and well integrated, with ripe fruit, silky tannins and an impressively long, graceful finish. A beautifully evolved Pauillac showing finesse and classic Left Bank character.

A polished and very beautiful wine with blueberry, currants and light mint character. Full body with super-integrated tannins and a long, long finish. All in finesse. So lovely now.

Another sleeper of the vintage for this property that has been doing impressive work over recent vintages, the 2004 (a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot) displays a dark ruby/purple color along with classic aromas of cedar, creme de cassis, earth, spice, and wood. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, long, and impressively endowed, it should be at its peak between 2010-2022.

Still bright ruby. Really evolved nose that’s even slightly jammy. Cool start and quite enough acidity. Light and lively but compared with the best-value petits châteaux, this is not a good buy. Depends on whether you want to pay a premium for the Rothschild name. Jancis Robinson

73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot
The growing season was closely monitored, coming after a severe winter and some spring frost. Flowering was not very productive, constant humidity favoured disease and the summer was moderately warm. Fortunately, September was fine and so it was possible to wait for the grapes to fully ripen, with late harvests.

TASTING NOTES (AT BOTTLING)
Expressive, heady, open nose. Notes of very ripe, very red fruit. Excellent body, after a fine complex attack. Very rounded, long finish, with a touch of spice.
