SKU: RDFR20250018
Carruades de Lafite 2025 is a refined and expressive Pauillac second wine from Château Lafite Rothschild. Blended from 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, it opens with aromas of red currants, sweet tobacco, cedar, and subtle graphite. The palate is precise and energetic, combining bright acidity, fine tannins, and a creamy, elegant texture. Linear and well-structured, it delivers freshness, purity, and depth, finishing long with a saline, mineral edge. A beautifully balanced wine with classic Lafite finesse and excellent ageing potential.

Upfront and instantly so welcoming and friendly and fun, bright, lively, full on acidity kicks off the expression – so lifted with the focus on the pure fruit. Salty undercurrent that gives such an incredible contrast to the ripe strawberry fruit. But this is also lacking no richness – it’s got muscles, power, concentration and such capacity to age. Fabulous. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

A blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet France and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2025 Carruades de Lafite exhibits notes of sweet plums and berries mingled with notions of orange zest, cedar and cigar wrapper. Medium- to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with powdery tannins, lively acids and a gently chalky finish, it checks in at 12.5% alcohol.

55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. Certified organic. Cask sample.
Blackcurrant and graphite notes. Suave attack then plenty of drive. Solid structure with well-extracted tannins. Freshness as well. Should age. (JL)

Château Lafite Rothschild is the result of a rare harmony of nature, which it alone controls and which continues to be created from vintage to vintage, for over a thousand seasons.
On the plateau of Lafite’s mythical gravel, the men and women who work in the vineyards are the ones who pass on wine-growing traditions. And for over one hundred and fifty years, with the arrival of Baron James, the same family has taken turns to deliver a single message: That of precision and resilience in the face of the master strokes that the sky writes on its lands.
“Lafite remains unyielding, yet delicate, and subtle.”
In this eternal beginning anew, in this inconstancy of nature that writes a different destiny each year, Lafite remains unyielding, yet delicate, and subtle. It has the nature of the wise, unchanging like its eternal gravel. For if it is still there after a thousand seasons, its roots and soul will tell us that it is already writing its future.
