Riedel Glass Vinum #6236 Single Malt Whisky 6416/80 Set of 2
Designed with input from Scotch whisky experts, this elegant elongated thistle-shaped glass enhances the creamy sweetness of single malt whisky. Its small outturned lip directs the spirit perfectly to your tongue for the best tasting experience. Made from fine crystal, set of 2.
In early 1992, a panel of Scotch whisky experts convened at Riedel's headquarters in Austria to test a range of nineteen different glass shapes. On the basis of this first selection, Georg Riedel undertook further research with the help of master distillers in Scotland. This research resulted in a glass that is an elongated thistle shape on a truncated stem. The design incorporates a small, slightly outturned lip which directs the spirit onto the tip of the tongue, where sweetness is perceived, and serves to emphasize the elegant creaminess of top quality single malt whisky.

Features
Signature Shape: The Single Malt Whisky glass features an elongated thistle-shaped bowl on a truncated stem, developed specifically to enhance the character of premium malt whisky.
Aromatic Performance: The gently rounded bowl helps aromas gather within the glass, allowing the whisky's malt, oak, fruit and spice characteristics to develop more clearly.
Outturned Lip: A small, slightly outward-curved rim directs the whisky toward the tip of the tongue, where sweetness is perceived, helping emphasise the elegant creaminess of fine single malt whisky.
Sensory Development: The design was developed following a series of workshops beginning in 1992, involving Scotch whisky experts and further research with master distillers in Scotland.
Vinum Collection: Created by Georg J. Riedel, Vinum was introduced in 1986 as Riedel's first varietal-specific machine-made collection. The range was developed around the principle that the shape of the glass should complement the characteristics of the beverage.
Premium Machine-Made: Riedel's premium machine-made process allows for precise, lightweight and finely proportioned glassware, combining consistency with the delicate appearance traditionally associated with handmade stemware.
Care Instruction
Cleaning: Dishwasher safe. Riedel recommends careful positioning in the dishwasher to prevent the glass from contacting other items.
Suitable for: Single Malt Whisky, Malt Whisky, Scotch Whisky and other premium whisky styles. The glass is particularly suited to neat whisky tasting and occasions where aroma and texture are central to the experience.
