Winemaker
Crafted from a 0.54-hectare plot planted in 1961, the wine benefits from mineral-rich soils that impart complexity and depth. The vinification process involves handpicking, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging in oak barrels for 15 to 18 months, with a small percentage of new barrels to enhance complexity without overwhelming the fruit character .
This Volnay 1er Cru Les Angles presents a dark purple color and offers an enchanting bouquet of violets, redcurrants, cherries, and, with age, spices and game notes. On the palate, it is fresh on the attack and warm on the finish, with notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant enriched by layers of black fruits and a mineral component. The structure is balanced, and the tannins are soft and well-integrated, giving the wine remarkable elegance. The finish is long and intense, with grilled and toasted nuances that leave a lasting impression.
