Very attractive blackberry and brambleberry aromas with hints of oyster shell and ink aromas that follow through to a medium body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Nice dryness and fine austerity at the end giving a crushed stone sensation. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

It has deep red with vibrant purple hues. Complex aromatics of boysenberry, black pepper, cedar, anise and garrigue herbs. The palate is beautifully poised with the richness and and dark berry ripeness balanced with fine acidity and superb fine minerally tannins, finishing dry and long.

Dark burgundy with a vibrant purple hue. Immediately the nose shows all the hallmarks of the variety on these soils. Olive tapenade, mulberries, and spicy, gamey notes are all in abundance. The palate has prominent ripe tannins and an intensity that speaks to a warm vintage. Medium to full-bodied, the unique savoury and fruit balance is sure to entice all flavours of Syrah from the Gimblett Gravels.

Soil: Greywacke gravel, with layers of silt and sand; very free-draining stony soils
Vinification: Hand- and machine-harvested fruit, sorted and mostly destemmed, with approximately 10% whole-bunch fermentation. Fermented in open-top stainless-steel tanks and oak vats, followed by 15 months of maturation in French oak barriques.
