Dominus sits at an unusual intersection of Napa terroir and Bordeaux pedigree. Christian Moueix established Dominus Estate in 1983 after recognising the potential of Napanook, a vineyard that had supplied fruit to important Napa Cabernets in the mid-twentieth century, bringing a Pomerol-trained perspective to a historic California site. Over time Moueix consolidated ownership and focused on dry farming and restrained winemaking designed to express the vineyard itself.
