The most familiar Champagne brand in the world is also among the most reliable. There is a light touch of toast on the aroma that follows through to the ripe flavor. It is a soft while dry wine, full of zesty white fruits and just a hint of maturity. Drink now. — Roger Voss

Based on the challenging 2017 vintage, the current release of Moët & Chandon's NV Brut Imperial was disgorged with seven grams dosage (representing a reduction of around 50% in the last 20 years) and contains an unusually high proportion of reserve wines. Offering up aromas of pear, peach and citrus oil mingled with hints of fresh bread and white flowers, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and pillowy, with racy acids and an enveloping core of fruit, complemented by a pinpoint mousse and concluding with a nicely defined finish. Impressively seamless, it's a fine rendition of one of Champagne's largest bottlings.

This Champagne has a large portion of both Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, as well as up to 30% of reserve wine and a dosage of 9g/l. It has a very citrussy nose, with zippy yellow and white fruits on the palate. It's medium-bodied and nicely balanced, with a pleasantly fruity foundation of primarily red fruit. A nice match with sushi.
