Paul Jaboulet Aine Crozes-Hermitage Domaine De Thalabert Rouge 2013 750ml

The 2013 Crozes-Hermitage from Paul Jaboulet Aîné is a full-bodied, 100% Syrah that shows bright, juicy red fruits with hints of crushed rock and liquorice. It’s elegant yet generous, drinking well now but with plenty of age potential through 2027 and beyond. The wine has a velvety texture and delicate tannins, balanced by a firm structure and sophisticated depth. Barrel aging has shifted toward larger casks, highlighting fresh fruit flavors over heavy oak influence.

100% Syrah, from a 40ha estate that is one of the biggest in the appellation. The 2013 vintage in the Rhône is a very different story from Bordeaux, as clearly displayed here. This is delicious: bright and juicy red fruits, crushed rocks and liquorice; it’s so drinkable now, but will age well. Elegance with generosity.

Available in a range of bottle sizes. The oak barrels from Château La Lagune in Bordeaux (which is under the same ownership as Jaboulet) are being replaced by larger 500-litre casks, which tend to favour fruit flavours more.
Pale crimson. A wine with an amazing history! Good stuff that is drinking well already out of bottle, though note the bigger sizes available, and their prices. Firm and sinewy with real depth. Sophisticated and both cool and arresting.

This cuvee in Crozes Hermitage from Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aine has a nice nose of ripe black fruits such as blueberry and liquorice. A wine of beautiful complexity, also in the mouth with melted and delicate tannins, an enveloping and velvety texture as well as a persistent and pleasant finish.
