Tasted blind. Confected, dark fruit with intensity and a stemmy herby note that adds welcome complexity without becoming dominant. Minty, scrubby length with lots of fragrance.

Grapes from the Mewstone vineyard were hand picked between the 29th of March and the 14th of April between 12.5 and 13.1 baume. Naturally fermented with 15 percent whole bunch (this varied across the ferments, from zero to 40%). The ferments received minimal pumpovers before being pressed after 21 days. The wine was matured in french oak (40% new) for ten months.
