Two Hands Yacca Block Single Vineyard Shiraz 2021 750ml

If you’re into rich, intense Shiraz with layers of flavor, the 2021 Yacca Block Menglers Hill from Eden Valley is definitely one to check out. It’s got that perfect balance of power and elegance — think dark berries, spices, and a touch of fresh florals. Right now, it’s a bit tight and needs some time or a good decant to really show off, but once it does, it’s seriously impressive. Great for anyone who loves a full-bodied wine with structure and plenty of character.

The 2021 Yacca Block Menglers Hill Shiraz is from Eden Valley and veritably pours flavor and concentration down the throat. This is compelling, intense and complex in its outlay of flavor, all the while confined to a very precise tannic structure. A decant is a must—the wine shows it is compressed and coiled within the glass currently, with the tannins only just starting to fan and splay at the very end of this tasting. This is a remarkable wine. 14.3% alcohol, sealed under Diam.

This is so powerful and lifted, with aromas of plum compote, raspberry coulis, violets, mulberries and cassia bark. The palate is full-bodied with finely integrated tannins and a creamy, viscous mouthfeel. Flavors of blackberries, baking spices, dark chocolate and coffee beans. Blockbuster in style, with some underlying freshness. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Perched high up on the hillside of the Eden Valley, this beautifully positioned vineyard is surrounded by ancient Yaccas. The soil here is a mix of both quartz and ironstone and the vineyard's high altitude allows for slow ripening that leads to a very soft and elegant Shiraz.
Colour
Deep dark red.
Aroma
Notes of black cherry, blueberry, green and black peppercorn, cut flower, green tobacco and fresh hung meat.
Palate
Hits the palate with plenty of vibrant primary fruits black cherry and blueberry complimented by fresh acidity. Medium to full-bodied, tightly coiled with plenty of reserved power. Chalky, savoury tannins roll through the mid-palate with a finish that is accented with complexing notes of spice, pepper and freshly cut flower. The finish is very long and refined.
