Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc by Baron Rothschild 2020
Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc by Baron Rothschild 2020
$45.00
A new offering from this Rothschild-owned venture, half of Rimapere’s 2020 Plot 101 Sauvignon Blanc was barrel fermented and aged on the lees. The oak influence is muted, only hinting at pencil shavings, but the lees impact is obvious in the silky feel on the palate. White grapefruit marks the nose, while the flavors include hints of fig and white currant. Given the élevage, I expect this will age a bit longer than most Marlborough Sauvignons, but it should still be consumed over the next couple of years.

A fresh and delicate wine. An explosive, expressive citrus nose.
Ideally located in the prestigious Rapaura sector, the Rimapere vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir.
The cool climate of this region is ideal for the production of Sauvignon Blanc (20 hectares, first vintage 2012). It gives this grape variety its freshness, with a pleasant acidity and the typical aromas of lemon and grapefruit.
