Le Petit Mouton Pauillac *ETA Q3, 2027 En-Primeur* 2024 750ml

Le Petit Mouton Pauillac 2024 reveals excellent depth and classic Cabernet character, featuring aromas of paprika, tapenade, dark tobacco, crème de cassis, cigar wrapper, and pencil shavings. The nose also carries violet, blackcurrant, caramel, cedar, and black chocolate notes, giving it a seductive and ripe quality. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied with fine-etched, chalky tannins and lively acidity, creating a structured yet elegant wine. The texture is unctuous and ripe, with a balance of ripe fruit and subtle power, ending on a finish of liquorice, black chocolate, and toast. This wine is poised, elegant, and light on its feet, with good finesse and great aging potential, reminiscent of the estate’s 2001 vintage.

Excellent depth. Though there is not much density, this exhibits outstanding cabernet character with paprika, tapenade, dark tobacco and black fruit. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-etched tannins. Great poise and elegance. Light on its feet but doesn’t need any more richness. 67% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot.

Violets and blackcurrants on the nose, smells ripe and quite heady - an air of sexiness about this. Some caramel, cedar and black chocolate too. Unctuous and ripe in the mouth, this has chewy tannins and lively acidity which really makes this zingy and focussed on the palate. A good balance between ripe fruit, fine tannins and subtle power ending in liquorice, black chocolate and toast. Structured and massy but in keeping with the vintage, not heavy or dense but so much flavour here. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Ageing 50% new barrels, 18 months. 3.62pH.
Closure: Cork
