La Sirene de Giscours Margaux 2017 750ml

Refined and approachable, La Sirène de Giscours 2017 is the elegant second wine of Château Giscours. This Margaux blend (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc) charms with aromas of cool blue fruits, dried plum, and a touch of spice. Silky tannins and fresh acidity carry a juicy, medium-bodied palate, making it both graceful and easy to enjoy. Drink now or cellar for added finesse—either way, it’s a polished example of Left Bank balance and charm.

Greyish crimson. Peppery and a little leafy on the nose. Light, fine texture and lovely freshness. Really rather delicate and attractive persistence. Fine-boned. Delicate granite scent and a light touch to the tannins. Refined and fresh.

La Sirène de Giscours, a delicate and elegant name that so perfectly reflects the personality of our second wine. Crafted with the same philosophy that guides our teams in making Château Giscours, La Sirène is a magnificent expression of our terroir.
A wine of great delicacy
Just like Château Giscours, our second wine is designed and thought out in the vineyard from spring onwards by our technical team. This reflection then continues in the cellar so that its full identity and elegance are revealed .
Viticulture and winemaking are carried out with a high level of rigor to offer the fruity notes and delicacy that we love so much at Giscours.
La Sirène de Giscours is an uninhibited and elegant wine , which has an aromatic palette marked by fruit , a beautiful freshness on the palate and silky tannins which blend into a creamy texture. With its fine Margaux nuances , it can be drunk young but also ages very well. A little marvel of which we are very proud.
The origin of Giscours's Mermaid
For decades, the mystery remained unsolved. How could one explain the presence on the label of a mermaid, dressed in gold and brandishing a vine branch? It was not until the early 20th century that we found some clues about the origin of Giscours's Mermaid.
Emile Grange, the new owner of Château Giscours, succeeding the Cruse family, wanted to add his personal touch to the property. One winter evening, sitting in front of one of the fireplaces in the living room, he distinguished the drawing of a mermaid on the cast iron plate. The mere sight of it captivated him and haunted his thoughts. This same drawing adorned the crest of the Irishman Jean O'Byrne, who, in the 1750s, had founded a major trading house in Bordeaux and acquired the neighboring château, La Houringue.
