A younger and more approachable version of Brunello, but already with an excellent structure and a great personality, Rosso di Montalcino is a very important wine for Tenuta Il Poggione.
Produced only with Sangiovese grapes from the company's youngest vineyards, Rosso di Montalcino matures in large barrels and barriques and then spends a period of refinement in the bottle.
Aging in wood, although not mandatory according to the Rosso di Montalcino production regulations, gives this wine a complex aroma and structure that make it a great "young Brunello," also smoothing out the tannicity typical of young Sangiovese.
