This is another great wine from Duemani. The spiciness from the wood is just right in the 2016 Merlot Cabernet Franc Altrovino, while the color and texture of the wine are both a bit gentler compared to other offerings from this producer. The wine has a slightly thinner mouthfeel and a more accessible style, but this is still a loyal and very enjoyable presentation of these two French varieties.

Altrovino di Duemani is a full-bodied red wine, characterized by Mediterranean and mineral hints of the Tuscan coast from which it comes. With a pleasantly fruity, spicy and balsamic nose. Composed and energetic on the palate.
LANDS
Clayey, saline soil, with a significant presence of calcareous skeleton.
VINIFICATION
Merlot and Cabernet Franc ferment spontaneously and separately in cement vats at a controlled temperature and with pumping over, followed by 20 days of maceration. A portion of the Cabernet Franc ferments in 500 and 600-liter terracotta amphorae to amplify the floral and fruity aromas of the grapes. When the wine is assembled, it is transferred to French oak truncated cone-shaped vats to undergo 8-month refinement. It does not undergo clarification or filtration.
TASTING
Altrovino presents itself in the glass with an intense and lively ruby dress. A nose of great breadth and breadth, which immediately brings to mind the Mediterranean scrub, ripe plum, black pepper and friggitello, returning a changing and profound profile. The sip is material, a velvet glove that takes possession of the palate, satisfying it and at the same time refreshing it with balsamic returns and a right dose of freshness.

Perfect with aged cheeses, game, pasta with meat sauce, stewed red meat or roast and grilled meat.
