A classic Bordeaux that shows finesse and poise. This is understated, with a medium body, lovely texture and acidity, freshness and brightness. It shows firm tannins that aren't chewy. Very long and honest, with pure fruit. 92% cabernet sauvignon, 6% merlot and 2% cabernet franc.

A serious wine that will delight patient purists, but which also showcases the new levels of purity and precision that this estate has been attaining since completion of the new winery, the 2024 Léoville Barton is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Unwinding in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, pencil shavings and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and impressively concentrated, with a taut but nicely integrated profile, concluding with a pure, penetrating finish.

Supple and lively - this has energy but also firmness and muscle from the start, the Cabernet really speaking with very softly plush tannins and pure blackcurrant fruit. It’s still little compact and tense, just knitted down, but there’s charm to this too with a clarity and cool freshness that is so moreish. Mouthwatering acidity is there, but this is more on the tannin weight while keeping the overall expression finessed. Not shouting, not crazy vibrant, calm but well made. Ageing 60% new oak.

The nose is intense, expressive on minty, spicy and black fruit aromas. On the palate, the flavors of blueberry and blackcurrant are enhanced and the hint of white pepper will surprise you. The tannins are delicate and velvety. The wine is straight, well-balanced and its power is exponential.
