Chateau Figeac St-Emilion *ETA Q3, 2027 En-Primeur* 2024 750ml

The 2024 Château Figeac is a beautifully sculpted wine that brings energy, elegance, and charm in equal measure. With its Cabernet-driven structure, vibrant red and black fruit, floral lift, and mineral depth, it offers a seamless, velvety ride from start to finish. A wine of finesse and quiet power, it's a standout in the vintage—both serious and seductively drinkable.

Gorgeous fragrance on the nose, dark chocolate, milk chocolate and black cherries, floral roses and iris - you can really smell the Cabernet Franc. Lovely intensity of fruit with such freshness from the start. A burst of acidity and zingy red fruit which then transforms into a soft and creamy mid palate before turning more mineral and crisp on the finish. Really a lovely journey from start to end. Well proportioned, not a light wine. This has a touch of chew with cooling minty liquorice aspects. It’s elegant, leaning into the vintage in terms of density, but wow there is such delicacy and detail here. I love it because it’s so relaxed and so charming and full of fruit. The energy and buzz is just exceptional. I could drink this all day! 8% press wine. 3.66pH

This is very refined with lovely tannins and freshness. Medium-bodied, it has a savory, juicy undertone and a satisfying finish. Some chocolate. A blend of 39% cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot and 28% cabernet franc.

The 2024 Figeac is a lovely classic, wafting from the glass with aromas of blackcurrants, minty berries, licorice and pencil shavings, deftly framed by new oak. Medium to full-bodied, layered and velvety, with good depth at the core, powdery tannins and a suave, seamless profile, it's a blend of 33% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Franc and 39% Cabernet Sauvignon that attained 12.7% alcohol. Figeac was one of those estates that took the risk of waiting to harvest, rejecting just over 20% of the crop in the sorting process to produce a compelling wine despite the challenging conditions.

Château-Figeac owes its singular character to the unique combination of three hillocks of Günzian gravel with clay subsoils, several microclimates and a grape variety composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This original blend, dominated by 2/3 Cabernets, gives the wine structure, finesse, freshness and smoothness. Since the beginning of this century, Château-Figeac wine has been available from its first years with a more caressing mouthfeel without losing its incomparable verticality over the years.
Its longevity over several decades is exceptional, with an inimitable and complex bouquet that reveals itself over time.
Château-Figeac has always been recognized as one of the great Bordeaux wines that evolves best over time, gaining a delicious and delicious complexity over the years. It can be enjoyed both in its early years and after several decades.
We first appreciate the color with its deep, purple nuances in imperial tones. The nose presents a wild, merlot charm in its youth, which gives way to a striking depth that will satisfy all Cabernet lovers.
Its aromas transcribe the lightness of its soils, which translates into a very subtle, airy olfaction: peony, infused fruits, graphite demonstrate a beautiful vitality. The 2/3 Cabernet literally sculpts the material, strengthening the base from the mid-palate, developing the long, taut, vibrant spine, with very pure mineral notes on the finish. The touch of satiny and pulpy tannins perfectly dresses the whole, in a very haute couture style… Over the years the wine takes on flavors of tobacco leaf, some nuances of black truffle while retaining an incomparable fruit freshness. We then touch perfection.
