Chateau Bellegrave Pomerol 2009 750ml is a beautifully mature Pomerol that combines richness, elegance, and classic Right Bank charm. Produced predominantly from Merlot with Cabernet Franc, the excellent 2009 vintage delivers layers of blackberry, plum, dark cherry, spice, forest floor, and earthy minerality, supported by smooth tannins and refined structure. Organic since 2009, Château Bellegrave is known for producing graceful, approachable Pomerol with excellent balance and ageing potential.

Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. The Bellegrave 2009 has a strict, linear but very well defined bouquet with crushed stone sprinkled over its taut red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, grippy tannins. Very good fruit intensity with the Cabernet Franc dominating the masculine, but fresh finish. This has improved since I tasted it out of barrel. Excellent. Tasted November 2011.

A real favorite for this Pomerol 2009, fleshy and robust, mouth wide, complex nose (leather, blackberry, pepper), rich, all power and finesse, a wine of beautiful color, very promising.
