Puligny-Montrachet (pronounced Mont-Rachet) shares with Chassagne the most perfect expression of Chardonnay.?Only a few meters from the Grands Crus, the Appellation d’Origine Contr?l?e instituted in 1937 offers a white wine with a strong personality and a high reputation.?The vines are mainly planted on limestone soil, sometimes deep or even on hard rock.?Exposures to the east and south-east between 230 and 320 meters above sea level.
Takes its name from “Pul”, radical meaning swamp.?The village of Puligny-Montrachet is installed on small pockets of water preventing any construction of buried cellars.

TERROIR
The appellation lies at the bottom of the hillside, on brown soil stretching from Meursault in the north to Chassagne-Montrachet in the south.?The soil is clay-limestone with a strong presence of pebbles.?Depending on the place, the style differs a little but always allows to associate elegance and richness.?We are lucky to have a representative of all the climats of the appellation, more than 21 in total.
