The new, just-bottled 2018 Le Ros? is a pale ros? produced with Mediterranean grapes?58% Cinsault, 16% Syrah, 16% Garnacha and 10% Mourv?dre. It has low alcohol, an elegant and perfumed personality and good freshness, closer to a white than a red. It’s light, fresh, easy to drink, subtle and elegant, reflecting a cool year like 2018 and an early harvest. 58,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2018.

Region Colchagua Valley.
Grape 29% Carmenere, 27% Merlot, 22% Syrah, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot.
Tasting Color: Intense and deep red with violet edges.
Nose: Elegant, fine and well balanced nose with black fruits such as blackberry and black spicy aromas.
Palate: Silky attack followed by red and black fruit, coffee and chocolate flavors. Good tannins delivering a very good structure.

Harvest
This season Colchagua registered the higher growing degree days sum of the las trhee periods, due mainly to the high temoeratures registeres towards the end of summer, made march the warmest of the last decades. However, grapes showed excellent quality when picked with a good aromatic expression and good tannic structure.

Vinification
Our key points are 100% hand harvesting, strict fruit selection by 100% use of optical state of the art grape selection, Vistalys. Ali fermentations were made in stainless steel tanks. Our Le Rouge enhances the main characteristics; from the Carmenere its roundness and spicy expression; from Merlot, its red fruit and acidity; from Cabernet Sauvignon, its complexity and elegant structure; from Syrah, it’s exuberant and attractive aromas and finally a touch of Petit Verdot to complete the blend with extra layers of complexity. The blend this vintage is 29% of Carmenere; 27% Merlot; 22% of Syrah, 21 % of Cabernet Sauvignon and 1 % of Petit Verdot. 70% of the blend was aged far 13 months in a mix of new (9%), second (7%), third use (28%) and fourth use French oak barrels (26%). The wine was clarified and a very light filtration was done previous bottling.
