Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Volnay 2019 750ml

A charming and expressive Volnay, this wine opens with aromas of red berries and floral hints of peony. On the palate, it’s lively and finely structured, with bright acidity and gentle tannins offering freshness and finesse. Fruit is sourced from Echards and the village plots of Aussy, contributing a touch of depth and classic Volnay elegance. Approachable now with some air, it will continue to evolve gracefully through 2030.

The 2019 Volnay Village offers up aromas of sweet red berries and peonies. Medium-bodied, it's bright and lively, with tangy acids and powdery tannins that assert themselves on the finish. A little time, however, should mitigate its slight youthful asperity.

This is very appealing, round and gentle. There’s plenty of red fruit, a little Volnay violet and density on the palate, but it’s in no way heavy. Fruit is from Echards and the village section of Aussy (but not Petits Gamets, which has been replanted), which imparts a little sturdiness. It’s a very neat expression of the appellation.
