    Cabernet Franc Blend
    Dry

A strikingly elegant wine that stands out for its finesse and aromatic complexity. Layers of crushed berries, fresh flowers, wet earth, and hints of orange peel and mushrooms swirl through the nose. On the palate, it's dense and refined, with ultra-fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral-driven finish. A Cabernet Franc-forward blend that diverges from the typical Saint-Émilion richness, showing restraint, structure, and impressive depth. It’s cerebral, mineral, and built to evolve beautifully in the cellar.

Wonderfully perfumed with decadence and richness, showing crushed berries, fresh flowers, wet earth, orange peel and peaches. Mushrooms, too. Full-bodied, yet very tight and reserved with ultra-fine yet strong tannins. It goes on for minutes on the palate, giving a balanced and beautiful feel all along the way. A blend of 56% cabernet franc, 43% merlot and 1% cabernet sauvignon. Try after 2023 and onward.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Trotte Vieille gives up notes of baked plums, stewed black cherries and dried mulberries with touches of spice cake, chocolate box and new leather with a waft of cedar. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has great density and weight with a firm level of rounded tannins and lovely freshness, finishing on a compelling mineral note.

This is definitely an impressive 2017 with white pepper spice showcasing its own character that diverts sharply from St Emilion's fruitbombs. It's good quality, grown up and not trying to please. Cassis and again Cabernet dominant, something that I have found very much to be the case in 2017 across the board. This one deepens in the glass - it will take its time to come around.

Beautiful dark garnet color. Intense fruity nose. On the palate, notes of raspberry and blackcurrant. Long length with freshness and minerality.

Bought in 1947 by the Castéja family,
Château TrotteVieille, 1st Grand Cru Classé in 1855, is a very old Estate. A legend states that an elderly Lady living in the surroundings in the 14th century used to walking over to
    where the Bordeaux stagecoaches stopped.
Characterized by an unique terroir (12 ha of vines) stretching over a calcareous plateau with a subsoil of clay and an important percentage of Cabernet Franc, TrotteVieille
produces exceptional wines which are known for their traditional character and their minerality.

A lot of texture for that generous wine marked by a vegetal touch. Smooth tannins and nice length.

    Blend 2017
    56 % Cabernet Franc
    43 % Merlot
    1 % Cabernet Sauvignon
