Very attractive, fragrant flowers on the nose, as well as a flinty, coal-dust edge, leading to a very plush, ripe and juicy palate that has a wealth of supple, rich and attractive, fleshy fruit. Great balance, too. This is delicious. Try from 2022.

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Paveil de Luze opens with notes of fresh blackcurrants, black berries and crushed black plums plus hints of pencil shavings, bay leaves and yeast extract. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers a good intensity of black fruit flavors with a firm, grainy frame, plenty of freshness and an herbal lift on the finish.
