The cranberry and cherry notes on the nose are pretty, and this wine also has a firm core of ripe tannins and good concentration with some real sophistication on the finish.

The 2014 Larrivet Haut Brion was closed on the nose when I tasted it: sultry damp moss and woodland scents infusing the reluctant black fruit, clearly needing more time to evolve. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly lactic entry. The acidity feels a little lower here, although there is a pleasant fleshiness towards the finish. This is fine, if not the best Larrivet Haut-Brion that I have tasted.
