The 2014 Château Cantemerle presents an elegant and refined style, with a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and 9% Cabernet Franc. The wine has a deep garnet color and offers floral aromas alongside red and black fruits with a touch of cedar and graphite. It is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a creamy texture, making it approachable now but with the potential to age gracefully. For those seeking a balanced, elegant wine, the 2014 vintage delivers a satisfying and classic Bordeaux experience with a promising future.

I like the floral character, which highlights the aromas of currants and berries. Full body and a firm and tight center palate. Silky tannins and a savory and creamy-textured finish. A beautifully balanced red. Try in 2021, but it'salready gorgeous to taste.

Lovely floral red and black fruits of fine clarity and depth. This château has really now come into its own and 2014 suits it perfectly; a lovely wine.

The 2014 Cantemerle has a conservative, cedar and graphite-tinged bouquet that needs to develop more fruit. It is focused but just needs more intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin on the entry. Clean red berry fruit here with moderate weight, leading to a slightly chewy finish that will hopefully evolve more nuance and personality with time. To be honest, I was expecting a little more considering the vintage.

    2014 TASTING NOTE
The wine displays a deep garnet color, elegant as an evening gown, accompanied by a subtle aromatic character. In the mouth there is an immediate sensation of elegant flavors, whose finesse reflects its sweet, tender, almost caressing tannins. The wine continues to develop on the palate, with an immersion of delicate fruit character
(raspberries and hazelnuts), and leaves a final impression of great refinement on the finish. This is a very distinguished wine, whose concentration and potential promise a long life. Decant it to enjoy with a veal roast and wild mushrooms, or a blanquette with fresh pasta. As well as many other food matches, of course.
