Very aromatic and bright with currants and orange peel on the nose. Full body, velvety tannins and a delicious finish. Love the texture to this. Fantastic second wine of Issan. Majority is merlot. Beautiful now but better in two or three years.

The Blason d'Issan 2014 has a light, rather clay-scented bouquet that needs to show a little more precision, even for a deuxieme vin. The nose is medium-bodied with slightly brittle tannin and needs to develop a little more flesh on the finish. This needs to raise its game by the time of bottling.

Blason d'Issan, our second wine, was introduced from 1995 onwards to enable selection amongst our vines growing in the Margaux appellation area. Fruit from our youngest vines is used to produce this wine, which respects the identity of its terroir, while offering a tasty round fruitiness, which can be enjoyed earlier. Blason d?Issan is also aged in barrels for 14 to 16 months, one third of which are new.
