Pazo Senorans Albarino 2019 750ml

Fresh and vibrant Albariño with notes of white peach, citrus, and a hint of fresh-cut grass. Crisp, dry finish and perfect with seafood.

The flagship 2019 Albariño is young, fresh and fruit-driven, quite similar from vintage to vintage, a little reductive when so young, but with varietal notes of white fruit and flowers, freshly cut grass and a citrus touch. The palate is harmonious and tender, with good volume and freshness, finishing dry. This stays in tank with lees for four to five months before bottling. 250,000 bottles produced, most of the production. It's bottled in six different lots throughout the year.
This time I tasted six different wines from Pazo de Señorans. They have increased their vineyard holdings to 15 hectares and are renting a further seven, and since 1989, they have been using local growers to provide them with grapes, nothing less than 97 families. And it's all Albariño, used to produce 250,000 bottles.

Blend from parcels about 10 km from the sea. Vinified in stainless-steel tanks with maceration in the press and fermentation at room temperature. Aged on lees and bottled at the end of the year after the harvest to be kept in the bottle for 2–3 years before release.
Tasted blind. Slightly waxy, green fruit and a mineral touch. Creamy, a touch of lees and sweetness. A full wine, with an exuberant palate. Very lush, but perhaps less recognisable in style.
