L'Enchanteur De Vray Croix De Gay By Chateau Latour Pomerol 2016 750ml

This is the second wine of Château Vray Croix de Gay in Pomerol, crafted under the guidance of winemaker Penelope Godefroy with Jean-Claude Berrouet (former Petrus winemaker) as a consultant. Expect a plush, ripe profile with red fruit, subtle minty freshness, and well-integrated oak—structured yet approachable, typical of a refined second label.

The minty note in the nose is quite unusual for this appellation, but there's plenty of ripeness and flesh here for Pomerol lovers and just enough supple tannin to keep it on track. Second wine of Vray Croix de Gay and a blend of 95 per cent merlot and five per cent cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

This is the second wine of Vray Croix de Gay, with Penelope Godefroy as winemaker and Jean Claude Berrouet as consultant. It's bristlingly fresh, with an enjoyable red fruit expression. This was tasted separately to Croix de Gay, but I noticed the same signature in both. A good quality wine.
