Chateau Cote de Baleau St-Emilion 2015 1500ml

A charming Saint-Émilion in a generous magnum format—perfect for sharing. This vintage is all about silky textures, ripe red fruits, and subtle mocha and spice. With smooth tannins and great balance, it's drinking beautifully now, but has plenty of life ahead. A relaxed yet refined Right Bank Bordeaux for any occasion.

The 2015 Cote de Baleau has a fresh, red cherry and crushed strawberry scented-bouquet, candied but pure and appealing. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, velvety smooth with good depth, mocha-tinged black fruit taking over the steering wheel toward the finish. This should be an approachable Saint-Émilion that will offer several years of drinking pleasure, probably more.

This has a juicy core of crushed raspberry, boysenberry and red currant fruit that has melded already with singed mesquite and iron threads. A flash of tobacco adds a mouthwatering hint to the lengthy finish. Best from 2020 through 2030. 6,917 cases made.

Attractive, spiced berry and earthy aromas with light mocha notes, leading to a palate with fresh red berries. A lithe, mid-weight clutch of tannins to close. Drink or hold.

Tasted blind. Rather paler and less blue than most. Notably aromatic. Lightweight but well balanced and unforced. Very digestible.
