Chateau D'Armailhac Pauillac 2008 750ml

A polished and classic Pauillac, the 2008 Château d'Armailhac shows off ripe cherry, tobacco, and a touch of roasted coffee on the nose. On the palate, it’s smooth and medium-bodied with silky tannins and juicy red fruit that make it both elegant and easy to enjoy. Approachable now but still holding well, this vintage delivers old-school Bordeaux charm with a modern softness.

Balanced and fruity with tobacco and berry character. Full and very soft with fine tannins, and a juicy fruit character on the finish. Best in 2012.

This is a wine that is made to be elegant - the most accessible in the Mouton stable. They have achieved that with an attractive juicy finish. It doesn't have layers or depth as with some other Pauillacs in this vintage, but there are some lovely chewy tannins on the finish. Although this is ready to drink, it still has plenty of life ahead of it.

A dense plum/purple color is followed by a supple, evolved, medium-bodied wine revealing an elegant bouquet of red and black currants, charcoal, toast and earth. Enjoy this impressive 2008 over the next 12-15 years.

Tasted blind. Smudgy rim. Correct, upright but fruity palate. Lighter than some Pauillacs but offering lots of pleasure.
