Beautifully mature and refined, this 2010 shows sweet red fruit, spice, and a polished texture. Silky and balanced with plenty of depth, the tannins have mellowed nicely, making it approachable now but still with years ahead. A classic vintage with elegance and staying power.

Fine mid red beginning to evolve. Sweetly fine very gorgeous, plump through the middle and beautifully balanced. There are some tannins but the volume of fruit has tamed them. This wine has an excellent future, with the deal drinking window probably beginning in another 3 to 5 years. Tasted Oct 2019.

A spice-infused red, with a cherry core. Dense and well-structured, picking up savory and mineral elements on the finish. The tight structure needs time to resolve. Best from 2016 through 2030. 300 cases imported.

Roots go down as far as eight metres. Still a hint of blue in the colour here. Very lifted and aromatic. Polished and sophisticated. Lots of sweet fruit but with a much finer texture. Very complete and already open. One of the finest, most elegant reds from this address.

The name 'Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus' refers to an old story. It is said that Marguerite du Saint Sacrement, the founding carmelite of the 'Domestiques de la famille du Saint Enfant Jesus' predicted the birth of the king of France, Louis XIV, although her mother, Anne of Austria was sterile. On the birth of the future 'Roi Soleil', this exceptional vineyard which belonged to the Carmelites, took on the name 'Vigne de L'Enfant Jesus'. In 1791, when all national property was sold, Bouchard Pere & Fils put in a bid for the vineyard, situated in the heart of the 32 hectares of the Beaune Greves appellation, of which it still has the monopoly today.
