Clos Rene Pomerol 2019 750ml
Clos René Pomerol 2019 – A charming and expressive Right Bank wine offering layers of blackberries, redcurrants, and sweet cherries lifted by hints of violet, truffle, and spice. Medium to full-bodied with polished tannins and lively freshness, it delivers both elegance and substance, finishing long with a touch of peppery energy. Beautifully balanced and full of character — classic Pomerol finesse with a modern vibrancy.

Redcurrant and sweet-berry aromas with flowers and tile. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm yet polished tannins and a juicy finish. Savory and lightly peppery at the end. Give the tannins time to soften. Try after 2024.

High-toned blue fruits, strawberries and red cherries. Appealing chew to the fruit (cherries and blackcurrants), I like the initial impression but the tannins, if supple and firm, are quite powerful at the moment. Good length.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2019 Clos Rene charges out of the glass with gregarious scents of freshly crushed blackberries, plum preserves and wild blueberries with hints of hoisin, moss-covered tree bark and black truffles. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has bags of vivacity, with an interesting interplay of fresh, crunchy black fruit and blue fruit preserves. Framed by ripe rounded tannins and bold freshness, it finishes on a lingering peppery note.
