The 2010 Château Batailley is a deep, structured Pauillac with a rich and complex profile. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot, it features intense blackcurrant, blackberry, and cedar notes, along with hints of smoke and liquorice. The wine has a full-bodied structure, dense texture, and abundant tannins, offering a long, lingering finish. While it is still quite firm, its exceptional depth and complexity suggest it will continue to evolve beautifully over the coming years, making it an excellent wine for aging.

Aromas of freshly sliced mushrooms and dark fruits. Full body, with an incredible depth of fruit and finesse here. The tannins are amazing quality. Love the texture. Give it four to five years of bottle age.

This has appealing depth to the fruit, and a confident tannic structure overall, with a kick of spice, and some bitter chocolate notes. It will further soften with a few more years in bottle, and it is loaded up with classic Pauillac markers from cassis to mint that should reveal themselves further as it ages. Can wait a bit longer to open this but it is starting to be enjoyable to drink today.

Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Batailley starts off quite cedary/oaky, opening out to reveal notes of preserved plums, blackcurrant cordial and new leather with touches of pencil shavings and bay leaves. Full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of firm, chewy tannins and loads of freshness framing the herb-sparked black fruit, finishing a little firm.

Pauillac wines have a deep colour.

These wines are potent and robust, particularly during blending, where the power of sauvignon prevails.

The tannin structure resulting from this process gives these wines incredible ageing capacity.

By adding merlot to the blend, Pauillac wines are well-rounded and fruity. After ageing, these wins become highly complex.

Our first wine, designated AOC Pauillac, and categorised as Cinquième Grand Cru Classé since 1855, is a typical Pauillac wine.

This dark ruby wine smells sophisticated, rich and intense when opened, with a powerful nose of black- and red-fruit aromas. In the mouth, its robust, balanced flavour shines through, with pronounced notes of blackcurrant and spices and a long, captivating finish.

Considered an excellent wine of guard, it ages extremely well and can be kept for many years before use.

    2010 TASTING
Chateau Batailley 2010 is of very dark purple colour and has a sweet blackcurrant fruit with blackberries, cedar wood, fruitcake, smoke, liquorish. Abundant but very sweet tannins with a very good full-bodied structure on the palate, it is dense with very good depth, complexity and a long finish.
