Domaine Roux Pere & FIls Chassagne-Montrachet Les Morichots 2018 1500ml
SKU: WHFR20180576
Domaine Roux Pere & Fils Chassagne-Montrachet Les Morichots 2018 1500ml is a rich and expressive white Burgundy that shows the generous, sun-kissed character of the 2018 vintage in Chassagne-Montrachet. Aromas of spiced apple, nectarine, dried mango, hazelnut, and flinty minerality lead into a full-bodied palate with bright acidity, creamy texture, and impressive tension. Complex yet balanced, it finishes long and nutty, combining ripe fruit depth with classic Côte de Beaune finesse.

Full bottle 1,385 g. So fragrant! Peppery, pink-peppercorn, summersweet leaves after the rain, a bitter zing that reminds me of papaya pips. The peppery-fragrant gauze almost obscures the fruit, for now, but tucked underneath it lies the low-toned sweetness of white peach, biddable, endearingly gentle. A wine of two halves, entwined: one lifting the other and spiking it with zest; the other softening the edges and bringing kindness. (TC)

Sitting on southern facing slopes with altitudes between 220 and 325 meters, the vines that make the ‘Les Morichots’ are planted in soils ranging from pebbly limestones, marl, and even some sandy soils with a Jurassic basis. Aromas of mayflower, acacia, and honeysuckle blend with hazelnut and a profound minerality. The fruit and acid notes arrive instantaneously with a long and pronounced finish. Preferable with poultry and veal dishes, but also pairs well with salmon.
