Le Carillon D'Angelus St-Emilion 2014 750ml
Le Carillon d’Angélus 2014 – A beautifully poised and expressive Saint-Émilion from the iconic Château Angélus estate. This second wine delivers remarkable depth and refinement, offering layers of ripe blackcurrant, plum, and raspberry accented by violet, spice, and a touch of mint. Silky yet structured, with polished tannins and vibrant acidity that hint at long-term potential. Elegant, rich, and impeccably balanced — a superb introduction to the Angélus style.

The second wine of Angélus is almost as structured as the first wine. It has serious tannins and dark acidity. At the same time, the fruit is rich with black-currant flavors. It is solid with plenty of potential. Drink this very fine wine from 2023

The creamed raspberry and plum fruit glides along, with substantial but silky tannins and a long, spice-infused finish. Features a lovely violet hint.

This stands out compared to the 2013, clearly richer and with more layers, proving the enormous impact of vintage in Bordeaux, even for the top estates. Both wines have their place, but if you are looking for a window into the succulence and structure that Château Angélus offers, this is a great place to start. The colour and aromatics are enticing, and there's clear structure to the tannins, suggesting a wine with body and plenty to say. It has flavours of black cherries, touches of spice and some fresh mint, showing great persistency. This is still young, but should be ready to go soon with a good decant.

Carillon d'Angelus was born with the 1987 vintage. Over the years, he has acquired his own identity. Reflecting the level of requirement of the teams of the domain, it comes from a variable percentage of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon selected on different terroirs of Saint Emilion. Vinification and aging are precisely adapted to his style. It is appreciated for the purity of its fruit aromas, for its velvety tannins and its elegant finish.
