A striking collaboration between Dom Pérignon and contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, whose bold, anime-inspired style has reshaped the boundaries between fine art and popular culture. Born in Tokyo in 1962, Murakami is celebrated for his vibrant motifs—smiling flowers, mushrooms, and iconic characters—blending traditional Japanese techniques with cutting-edge media. Often called the “new Andy Warhol,” he brings his signature superflat aesthetic to this limited-edition bottle, making it not just a champagne, but a collectible work of art.

Aromas and flavors of complex potpourri as well as sliced strawberries, iron and terra-cotta. Some beeswax, stems and flower petals as well. It's medium-bodied and transparent, refined phenolics giving it length and finesse. Polished and delicate finish. You can feel the superb quality of the pinot noir (56%) with 44% chardonnay. Drink now.

To be released commercially in 2026. Blend of 44% Chardonnay and 56% Pinot Noir in total (including 11% red wine). (In the mid 1990s it was 15–18% then in the mid 2000s, as a result of the focus Richard Geoffroy was putting on Dom P rosé, it reached 28% but has been reduced since then.) They invested in a new winery in 2006–2008 with very small vats and burgundy-style pigeage for the reds. They started a programme to re-select red wines for Dom P and the wine now comes from 30 or so hectares in Hautvillers, Aÿ and Bouzy. They've been busy identifying the best plots, best clones and best raw material so this 2010 is the result of long research.
Stunning. So rich and complex on the nose! With almonds, burgundy flavours and strong Pinot Noir character on the nose. Really exciting! No shortage of structure. It seems so rich that it kids you there is some sweetness but the dosage was less than 5 g/l. Food wine. Should be great with tonight's langoustines! Long and savoury on the end. If grand cru rosé burgundy existed, this is what it would taste like.

    Takashi Murakami
    “Creation can change history."

At the heart of “Creation is an eternal journey” lie conversations where creativity comes to life. The films delve into each creator’s personal journey, unfolding through insightful conversations. Opening with a question on the essence of creation, the creators reflect on their craft, the unseen forces that drive them, and the profound connections between their artistry and the eternal journey of creation. Through these portraits and films, the campaign captures moments of profound intimacy, revealing how each creator, in their own way, becomes part of the journey that shapes Dom Pérignon’s legacy.

    Biography:
    TAKASHI MURAKAMI
A SINGULAR ARTIST OF HIS TIME
    Born 1962 in Tokyo.

A Japanese contemporary artist known for his vibrant, anime-inspired paintings, sculptures, and commercial collaborations. He bridges the gap between high art and popular culture, blurring the lines between fine art, commercial design, and Japanese artistic traditions.
His work often features recurring motifs like smiling flowers, mushrooms, and Mr. Dob, exploring themes of consumerism, globalization, and the post-war Japanese experience.

The new Andy Warhol of his time that he deeply admires. Precursor of “super-flat” (2000): 2-dimensional imagery inspired by Japanese art, also in manga and anime. On a technical level, he uses both state-of-the-art media while resurrecting ancient Japanese artistic techniques like gold leaf painting.

Founder and president of the art trading company Kaikai kiki co. Ltd. Murakami’s creativity touches all walks of life, from fashion to audiovisual production. This is particularly the case in video clips or album covers.

Awards: Rank of the most expensive living artists in the world with his sculpture « My Lonesome Cow-boy » (1998) sold at auction at Christie’s for more than $15 millions. 2008: named one of Time magazine’s “100 most influential people”
