Reserve de La Comtesse Pauillac 2015 750ml

The 2015 Réserve de la Comtesse is an elegant and energetic second wine from Pichon-Lalande, offering vibrant red and dark fruit, lifted acidity, and a graceful structure. It’s approachable yet layered, with cedar, mint, and subtle oak tones that reflect the estate’s signature finesse—perfect for earlier drinking while the grand vin rests.

This is an impressive second wine. It shows a lot of vibrant red berries, blackberries and darker plum fruits. The palate is impressive for the vibrant and lively acidity cast amid sturdy but supple tannins. Second wine from Pichon-Lalande. Try from 2021.

Right from the first minute, this is cedar-scented, welcoming and super attractive. Restrained but full of vibrancy and life, very good quality. 39hl/ha yield. 40% new oak. 3% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Reserve de la Comtesse is a little tarry to begin, with red and black fruits, herbs and damp soil scents. Medium-bodied, firm, fresh and chewy in the mouth, it finishes a little green and herbal.

Tasted blind. Minty sweet. Nice and layered and zesty, with good drive. There is flesh here.
